TINMOUTH CLOSE TO TOP TEN AT SILVERSTONE!
Jenny Tinmouth continued her great form at Silverstone last weekend during the penultimate round of this seasons Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship. Riding her Manx Glass and Glazing backed Honda CBR600RR she secured 15th place during Saturday’s sprint race and put in another determined performance on the Sunday, taking 12th place after a sensational battle with Gary Johnson. Having taken 14 points from her last four races she has steadily climbed up the rankings and now looks forward to the triple header finale at Brands Hatch in just over a week’s time.
Fresh from her impressive results at Donington, Jenny arrived at Silverstone high in confidence, and soon got down to respectable times during free practice despite encountering a technical issue during the afternoon session.
Qualifying went well for Jenny as she set her best time just a couple of laps from the end of the session on new rubber, with a time of 2 minutes 13.646 seconds at an average speed of 98.78mph to place her in 17th position on the grid for the upcoming nine lap sprint race.

Making one of her trademark good starts she would complete lap one in 19th position and began to chase down David Jones. By the completion of lap six she had made her move and was now up into 16th place. Easing away from Jones she took 15th place at the chequered flag after title contender Ben Wilson crashed at Stowe.
Jenny once again lined up in 17th place on the grid for Sunday’s feature race, and quickly got into her stride contesting a four way battle with Marty Nutt, David Jones and Gary Johnson during the early laps. As the race progressed Jenny found herself in an exciting battle with Gary Johnson, the duo putting several moves on each other before Johnson just about managed to cling on to finish ahead at the chequered flag by a mere 0.074 seconds. Jenny had fought hard and deserved her 12th place and four more championship points.
“I’m really pleased with how things are going; we’re working hard and achieving consistent good results. I’m looking forward now to putting on a good show during the three races at Brands Hatch. I would like to say a huge thanks to Manx Glass and Glazing for their continued support and to everyone that has helped me this year.” Jenny Tinmouth
The final round of this season’s Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship is a triple header, taking place at Brands Hatch over the weekend of 7-9 October.
