JENNY TINMOUTH DELIGHTED WITH DONINGTON PARK RESULTS!

Jenny Tinmouth has recorded her best results of the season at round ten of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship held at Donington Park. The Ellesmere Port star was in great form all weekend riding her Manx Glass and Glazing supported Honda CBR600RR taking 13th place in Saturday’s sprint race, and impressively following up with 11th place in Sunday’s feature race.

Having not ridden on the 2.5 mile Donington Park Grand Prix circuit for some time Jenny was eager to get out on track during Friday’s two free practice sessions the first of which was run in damp conditions with Jenny reporting the surface to be very slippery in places. She was soon into her stride though and would post the ninth fastest time, completing more laps than any other competitor. Dry conditions prevailed for the afternoon practice, and Jenny circulated close to her personal best times finishing the day in 17th position.

Saturday mornings qualifying was held in dry conditions with Jenny continuing to lap consistently inside the top twenty. She ended up in 19th position on the grid, and had sliced three quarters of a second from her time set the previous afternoon.

Jenny made a great start to the 12 lap sprint race and would find herself in a race long battle with John Simpson. With three laps remaining her tyre started to go off, but using her race craft and the information on her pitboard she maintained her composure to finish in 13th place and take four valuable points.

For the 18 lap feature race, Jenny had moved up one position on the grid to 18th. Once again she made a very good start and made her way up to 13th place. She would begin to close in on the battle for 11th place when the race was stopped just a couple of laps shy of two thirds distance due to a light rain shower. The competitors waited for the shower to pass and reformed on the grid in their finishing positions, meaning that Jenny had moved onto row four of the grid for the now seven lap dash to the chequered flag. Making her third good start of the weekend she quickly progressed to eleventh position and would set about chasing Gary Johnson. However, due to oil on the circuit the race was again red flagged for safety reasons and a result declared. Jenny had recorded her best ever ‘dry’ result in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship by taking eleventh place and collected nine points in total during one of her best weekends since moving up to the 600cc class!

“I’m really happy with how the weekend has gone at Donington Park, we ran a good pace consistently throughout the weekend and managed to qualify higher up the grid. I enjoyed both races and its great to be coming away with some points. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved, especially Majestic Engineering, Andrew Holloway and GB Racing for the weekend.” Jenny Tinmouth

The penultimate round of this season’s Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship takes place at Silverstone over the weekend of 23-25 September.
