01/07/08 20:22pm More Points for Jenny in Supersport Cup
Mallory Park played host to the 6th round of the British Supersport Championship. Jenny qualified in 34th place and with only 32 grid spots up for grabs was second reserve for the race on Sunday, but unfortunate riders Ashley Beech and Marshal Neill were unable to take part due to bike troubles and so Jenny snuck onto the grid for race day. A rain shower before the start of the 28 lap race saw team's rushing to change wheels for wet weather tyres and with no time to get the wets for Jenny she had no choice but to start the race on intermediates. Jenny took it steady in the tricky conditions to begin with, but as the track dried her laps times decreased as the intermediates tyres came into their own and she crossed the line in 23rd place and 7th in cup increasing her points tally to 27 and moving her up two spots to 8th in the Cup Championship Overall.

The next round of the British Supersport Championship is at Oulton Park on the weeknd of the 18th-20th July.

16/06/08 4:55pm Jenny in sight of Cup Podium at Snetterton!
Jenny qualified in 33rd place for the 5th round of the British Supersport Championship race at Snetterton at the weekend.
Jenny made an excellent start to the race, taking her past several riders at the start. The pace was hot at the front, but Jenny was locked in her own battle, mainly with Ross Walter and Dean Hipwell, both rivals in the Supersport Cup. Always in touch, and posting lap times almost identical to her qualifying times, Jenny was to take the chequered flag in 25th place overall and an impressive 5th in the cup, less than 2 seconds off the rostrum. Her best lap time was less than a couple of seconds off the pace of race winner Steve Plater, and within half a second of legend, John McGuinness. She had thoroughly enjoyed the race and was delighted with her 11 point haul in the British Supersport Cup, in which she now lies in 10th position overall.
Speaking afterwards Jenny said; “I had a really good weekend. It was nice to be so close to a Cup podium and I'm hoping I can get closer at Mallory Park if not on the rostrum itself, it'll be hard as it's such a short lap around Mallory, the whole field will be really close, but it will be fun and I'm really looking forward to it.”
Jenny’s next outing in the British Supersport series takes place over the weekend of 27th-29th June at Mallory Park in Leicestershire.
02/06/08 7:27pm Jenny takes her first victory in the 600 class

Female First for Rizla Suzuki
By Kevin Hughes
THIRTY Superbikes roar around the Mallory Park track before slowing and forming neat lines on the starting grid.
It’s the final major motorcycle race on the UK calendar, The Race of the Year, the traditional season finale.
Established stars of the hugely popular televised British Superbike series line up alongside the top up-and-coming talent all eager to show team bosses they can cut it with the best.
Once the grid forms the 1,000cc engines are silenced and it’s strangely quiet until veteran commentator Fred Clarke shoves a radio microphone under crash helmets to get a few muffled comments for the benefit of thousands of fans around the 1.39 mile circuit.
Paddock girls dressed in unbelievably short micro mini skirts, thigh high leather boots and impossibly tight T-shirts stand by riders and shiver in the autumn chill.
Welcome to the world of Superbike racing, a man’s world where you practically have to wade through testosterone just to get near a bike.
Only scantily clad glamour girls are welcome on a Superbike grid - or at least that’s how it used to be.
Because sat astride the all blue Rizla Suzuki works bike is Ellesmere Port girl Jenny Tinmouth – the first woman ever to race a Superbike.
And as her steel blue eyes focus down the track towards Gerard’s, the first sweeping right hand bend of the tight and twisting Leicestershire’s circuit, she’s in race mode and itching to launch the finely tuned projectile with the flick of a slender wrist.
The blonde 29-year-old has been given her chance as a guest rider by top British Superbike team Rizla Suzuki after she impressed their legendary former three times British champion, the now retired John Reynolds, while competing in the British 125cc national championship over the last few seasons.
However, due to time restraints Tinmouth has had precious little time to get used to the sheer brute strength and raw power of the 1,000cc, 210bhp, 200mph plus machine.
And, as her race technician for the day, Simon Green explained, the Suzuki GSXR-1000K7, like any thoroughbred Superbike, is not an easy machine to ride.
He said: ‘To get anywhere near it’s full potential takes a lot of skill, bravery and focus. Getting off a Supersport machine and on to a Superbike is hard enough but to race a 125cc and make the step up is an awesome achievement.
‘But she’s got focus, she’s taking it steady and doing what we have asked her to do which has to be the right approach.’
Simon was talking following morning warm up after Tinmouth put in consistent 58sec laps even dipping into the high 57’s as she came to terms with the bikes characteristics.
She returned to the pit late after been stopped by scrutineer's for a sound check to ensure the Suzuki was operating under the allowed decibel level.
Unfortunately that left Rizla Suzuki team manager Simon Buckmaster and his technicians craning their necks as they waited anxiously for her return.
But when she finally coasts down pit lane the machine is quickly up on a ramp and technicians begin checking every nut and bolt while data management guru Alan Bell hooks the machine up to a lap-top and begins downloading data.
Simon Green then talks Jenny through the read out which shows she hadn’t quite managed to fully open the throttle and was braking too late, and therefore too aggressively, into Edwina’s a sharp chicane half-way around the circuit.
However, she proving to be pretty smooth and her lap times had consistently come down, if only fractionally, lap after lap.
And with timed practice, to determine grid position for the race itself, just 30 minutes away technicians change the front tyre for a softer compound and make slight adjustments to suspension settings on the advice of Alan Bell who is still studying his computer screen.
For Jenny there’s the chance to sit quietly, calm the nerves and chat to Cal Crutchlow, her team mate for the day.
Crutchlow has had a full year in the Rizla Suzuki team and finished on the podium at the final round of the championship at Brand’s Hatch just a week earlier.
He gives Jenny advice and a few tips on lines through corners which are radically different on a Superbike compared to the ageing Honda 125cc machine she’s used to.
In timed practice Jenny improves her lap times again and qualifies 20th on the grid while Crutchlow, consistently four seconds a lap quicker, takes pole.
Then it’s time for the race to get underway.
Fred Clarke finishes his interviews, the grid clears and the bikes roar into life, the lights go out its go, go, go!
Crutchlow takes the lead by Gerard's and stays out in front unchallenged to the chequered flag.
Jenny, starting from 20th on the grid, has to deal with the bumping and barging as the following pack sweep around the track.
Her initial few laps are taken steady before she again begins to trim further fractions of a second off her lap times.
The 20 lap race is over in a blur and she takes the chequered flag a lap down on Crutchlow in 20th but she’s manage to post a lap of 55.954 seconds – a remarkable feat for a complete Superbike novice.
As she completes her slowing down lap she’s able to wave to fans and supporters who lined the circuit with flags and banners bearing her name and words of encouragement.
Crutchlow is presented with the Race of the Year trophy, champagne and a laurel garland while Jenny parks her bike in the garage.
However, there’s plenty of plaudits.
Her race technician Simon Green says she has done a fantastic job.
He said: ‘She’s brought the bike home safe and you can’t ask for more than that. She’s shown she’s mature, sensible and able to learn quickly. I am really impressed’.
Jenny said: ‘The whole weekend has been great. I’ve learned so much from both Cal Crutchlow and the team, they are really relaxed to work with and so methodical.
‘In the race I got with another rider who I passed at the hairpin but he got me back at Edwina’s. I did try and pass him again on the last lap but didn’t quite manage it! I would have liked to have finished in the points, but I’m happy to have posted my fastest ever lap of Mallory Park.
‘Thank you to Rizla Suzuki and the team for allowing me to race the GSX-R1000 Superbike, it has been a dream come true and I’ll never forget it.’
Jenny now has to look to next season and try and find a deal that will allow her to step up to at least the Supersport class if not Superbikes.
But motor cycle racing is a hugely expensive business and although the top teams such as Rizla Suzuki have million pound plus budgets for the year and their riders enjoy six figure salaries with the added bonus of sponsorship deals, for many like Jenny it’s a pure labour of love.
Her ageing 125cc Honda needs replacing should she stay in that class.
Or she can move up to a bike more suited to her height and talent - but that means a huge financial commitment and the support of a big sponsor.
But whatever the future holds for Britain’s top woman motor cycle racer, as one fan told her as she signed a autographs on Sunday: ‘It’s great to see a woman out there, just stick it to ’em girl!’
18/10/07 8:30pm Brands Hatch Round 13
Jenny qualified in 23rd place for the last round of the season. After making a great start in the re-started race Jenny moved up to 12th before being taken out at Druids, she was able to continue and finish the end of the race all be it a lap down.

25/09/07 6:55pm Donington Park Round 12
Qualifying went well with Jenny setting a personal best lap time to start in 11th place on the grid for Sundays race.
Jenny had done two practice starts at the end of warm up but had unknowingly warn out the clutch, it only became apparent when leaving the pit lane to form up onto the grid and with no time to change the clutch it was decided to hope for the best and make the race start, Jenny made a good start and despite the clutch problem was able to finish in 15th place picking up 1 more point in the championship.
01/09/07 1:34pm Tinmouth to ride Factory Rizla Suzuki - written by David Miller

Rizla Suzuki has announced it is to put 125GP regular Jenny Tinmouth on a 210bhp factory GSX-R1000 for the Race of the Year at Mallory Park in October – making her the first woman to compete on a works superbike in this country.
Jenny, 29, from Ellesmere Port in Cheshire, is a regular 125cc British Championship contender and started racing eight years ago after being bitten by the bike bug following her dad to race meetings. Working as a bike mechanic for her own business, Two Wheel Workshop, she is not your typical biker in any sense.
“This is a massive chance and I really want to make an impression, said Jenny. “I want to take this opportunity and make the best of it; I want to show what I am capable of.
“John Reynolds has been watching me for quite some time and thinks I have good technique and I would be more suited to larger capacity bikes than the 125cc I currently race. I think technique and skill is more important than brute strength and that women should be able to compete with men in Superbikes and want to prove it.”
Jenny started out buying herself a road bike with money borrowed from her dad. After riding very quickly on the road she turned her attention to track racing and hasn’t looked back since.
JR said: “I think it’s great we are giving Jenny a chance on a factory superbike, it will be the first time ever that a woman has had an opportunity like this and I’m sure she’ll do well.
“You don’t need massive strength to race a superbike but you do need to be very fit, determined and technically capable, all things that Jenny has in abundance. I’ll be guiding her and giving advice on the run up to her race and can’t wait to see what she can achieve.”
The 210bhp GSX-R1000 offers a massive step up in performance compared to Jenny’s normal 45bhp 125cc race bike. Hitting 0-60mph in 2.2secs and going on to a top speed of over 210mph, by riding the Rizla Suzuki, Jenny will become one of the fastest women on the planet.
She will be joined by another as yet un-named rider in the Rizla Suzuki squad for the Mallory Park Race of the Year, which takes place at the 1.41-mile long Leicestershire track on Sunday, October 21.
